5 Ways To Recycle Your Wardrobe

I wanted to show you all the 5 different ways I mix up my wardrobe when I'm getting a little...bored.

These are all super simple tips that don't involve any cutting or sewing.  Just super simple ways to wear your clothes differently to the norm.

This means that you can rewear the items as they are supposed to be worn or mix it up and try something new.

Skirts as a Top / Dress

This is of course dependent on the skirt but you would be surprised at just how many skirts you can turn into upper body wear!

This first look is a A line skater skirt that is pleated but draped over the shoulders and fastened with a belt it can be turned into a beautiful button up blouse.
I really like the way it drapes at the back. It does show a little skin so I pair this with a black vest. You can even open the buttons for a little more sassiness.

This is an elasticated waist skirt that has jagged lengths and I love the bohemian vibe. You can wear this as a strapless dress. Because it is elasticated it keeps itself up but the belt adds the division between the chest and the waist so it doesn't look frumpy. You could wear this without the jeans too.

This is a long length fitted evening skirt that I own and again it can be worn as a bodycon strapless dress. You wouldn't be able to tell this was a skirt.

Have a look through your skirts and see if you have any that can be styled as tops! You would be surprised!

Tights as Head wear

You can get super creative with this! For thinner tights like the black ones you can make a tighter headband and it looks nice with the ends hanging down. You could also use tights as a belt!
You could make a nice bow with the thinner ones too.

If you have thicker tights it might be worth cutting them down a bit but you can play about with some great colours and textures.
I use my yellow ones and sometimes make big bows with them with my hair up and it's a very fun look.

Scarves as a waistcoat

This will work with virtually any scarf. I actually knit my own scarves. (coming to an online shop near you) I really like big thick knit wool scarves in autumn colours and paired with a nicely colour-matched belt you can easily turn a scarf into a waistcoat.
It will look like a scarf from the back but the front can be dressed up. You can really make so many looks with this technique. I love pastel colours for a girly look and darker colours for a more grown-up look.

Dresses on backwards

This one isn't so easy and is very dependent on the dress. I have this beautiful green sequin number from Motel Rocks and originally it's actually quite a high collar dress. it just covers the collarbones and the back is low cut. This dress is pretty thick and can definitely get hot and make you sweaty so I prefer to wear it back to front as it's low cut and fitted giving you a cleavage boost and stops the 'boob sweat' situation.

I actually saw that Lydia from FashionInflux also does this with her dress too! Great minds think alike!

Underwear as outerwear

This was something I didn't actually discover until I saw that Lydia (I'm a big fan) did this. Now it's a huge fashion trend. The idea of it is insane but if you have any beautiful corsets they can look so so nice over knitwear! It works with bralets over t-shirts too. I mean it sure takes some confidence and it's not for everyone but if you can pull it off it's a very fashion-forward outfit.

Those are my 5 ways to wear items you already have, differently.

I hope you liked them. Let me know if you try any and if you have any to add to the list!

Happy February! We made it!
